The fig is the edible fruit of Ficus carica, a species of small tree in the flowering plant family Moraceae.

A fig plant is a small deciduous tree or large shrub growing up to 7–10 metres (23–33 ft) tall, with smooth white bark. Its large leaves have three to five deep lobes.

80 percent of the figs in our country are grown in the Aegean Region, 20 percent of them are grown in the climate of the Mediterranean, Marmara and Black Sea regions.
